![]() ![]() They're both well written though, I found both the characters and the lore interesting. Keep in mind, that both of these game feature a lot of cutscenes, and a lot of dialogue. If you're on PC, know that SF7 is more demanding, though it looks fantastic. SF7 is maybe a bit ahead when it comes to overall design, but XYS7 does the combat and bossfights better IMO. It took me 40 hours to finish, with doing all sidequests. ![]() The story is very high fantasy with gods and demon politics and over the top martial arts and sorcery. ![]() It's not open world, but there are many areas you can travel between, which means there's more variety in environments. SF7 combat is solid, but it's very simple. It's a shorter game, it took me less that 25 hours to get all achievements. It's low-ish fantasy, you do fight strange creatues, but it's mostly human environments, with a historical aspect where you witness historical events and meet famous people. XYS7 has better combat, but the world design is not as good (it's an interconnected world, but it's mostly made of linear corridors).
